Celecoxib 200 mg is classified as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug or NSAID that is COX-2 selective.  Celecoxib 200 mg is mainly used for the treatment of the symptoms and signs of pain in adult individuals, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, dysmenorrhea or menstruation that is painful and juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, which means rheumatoid arthritis that occurs in children 2 years of age or older.

Celecoxib 200 mg is available via a prescription from your doctor in the form of capsules.  There are many medical uses of celecoxib 200 mg, and some are mentioned already above.  Celecoxib 200 mg should only be used if the intention is to treat long-term pain incidences.  There is no benefit to be gained when you intend to take celecoxib 200 mg only on a short-term basis or for instant relief of your ailments.  The only exception for this is if you experience allergic skin reactions when you take aspirin or other nonselective NSAIDs.  Celecoxib 200 mg is also helpful in treating some psychiatric disorders such as bipolar disorder, depression and schizophrenia.  Additionally, in the past, celecoxib 200 mg was helpful when it comes to minimizing the occurrence of rectal as well as colon polyps in individuals who have conditions like familial adenomatous polyposis; however, it is unknown if it lowers incidences of cancer, therefore, its use in this ailment is not a good choice and has been discontinued.
